What is Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert lightenergy into chemical energy  that can later be released to fuel the organisms’ activities. This chemical energy is stored in carbohydrates molecules, such as sugar, which are synthesized from carbon dioxide  and water. Hence the name photosynthesis is from the Greek word phōs, “light”, and synthesis, “putting together”. In most cases, oxygen is also released as a waste product. Most plant , most algae, and cynaobacteria perform photosynthesis; such organisms are called photoautotrophs. Photosynthesis is largely responsible for producing and maintaining the oxygen content of the Earth’s atmosphere, and supplies all of the organic compounds and most of the energy necessary for life on Earth.
Although photosynthesis is performed differently by different species, the process always begins when energy from light is absorbed by proteins called reactionscentres that contain green chlorophyll pigments. In plants, these proteins are held inside organelles  called chloroplasts, which are most abundant in leaf cells, while in bacteria they are embedded in the plasma membrane. In these lights dependent reactions, some energy is used to strip electrons  from suitable substances, such as water, producing oxygen gas. The hydrogen freed by the splitting of water is used in the creation of two further compounds that serve as short-term stores of energy, enabling its transfer to drive other reactions.

WHAT THE SPIDER ON KADPOLY LOGO SIGNIFIES

By: Blessing Titilayo Ishola. Hnd 2A masscom 18/35297

spider is one of the most creative creature with accuracy, when you look at the web very well you will find out that in every row the lines and the gaps before the next line are equal, they fast in building it and still do not make mistake.

The spider emblem was originally the crest of the staff development centre before it become part of kadpoly. when kadpoly was formed in 1968 the academic board spent time in considering possible crest and found all the proposal 2 complicated in design. it was then suggested that it seemed a pity to drop the SDC device which has already become well known throughout Nigeria, so it was finally decided to keep the spider as a symbol of tenacity and thoroughness in spite of all the difficulties which may occur as the crest for the entire polytechnic. in order to differentiate from the SDC emblem however, it was decided to surround d web with a polygon representing the many sided nature of the poly and also showing the equal support received from the six northern states. As for the reason why the spider was originally selected by the SDC hero is an extract from the editorial of SDC magazine and gizogizo” published in April 1967, written by the then director John .H. Smith(.who later became in charge of the civil service in the Solomon islands, south pacific, so you can see how far the web extend).the name arose out of a discussion held in Nasarawa rest house among administrative officers attending induction course. The director told them that he needed a device or symbol for the SDC. So after awhile the possibility of choosing an animal came up and eventually someone suggested a spider or in Hausa gizogizo. And  most of the officers from different provinces and background were able to confirm that in their own folklore the spider represent a great many traditions that fitted in well with the concept of SDC. The little spider knows his job thoroughly, an amateur would never know much of the spider success. He preserves many times, his web got broken,he set about repairing it. The English saying goes thus: “if at first you don’t succeed, try again. This is derive from watching the spider, the web is exactly what we strive to do.

ACCURACY is the reason why spider webs is used as kadpoly logo, they give their product the best and accurate in doing that.

Child Abuse

Child abuse is not just physical violence directed at a child. It is any form of maltreatment by an adult, which is violent or threatening for the child. This includes neglect.

When child abuse occurs in the home and the abuser is, for example, the child’s parent or care-giver, this is a form of domestic violence

But children are sometimes abused by other adults who are far older than them Sometimes abuse is intentional, but not always. If parents or caregivers are no longer able to cope with caring for the child, this can result in dysfunctional behaviour and abuse.

We can also say child neglect occurs when someone does not provide the necessities of life to a child, either intentionally or with reckless disregard for the child’s well being. This can include physical neglect, such as withholding food, clothing, shelter, or other necessities. Emotional neglect includes withholding love or comfort or affection. Medical neglect occurs when medical care is withheld.

THINK WELL OF YOURSELF

As a reasonable person, it is expedient that you think well of yourself. I can’t see myself begging. God forbid. What happened to Jesus in me? I see myself cruising in the latest ride in town. Chilling with friends and family. If you like say I am overly ambitious, you’re on your own. You that is not ambitious, drive tortoise car…nobody will hold you. Speak positive words into your future. Be intentional about our wellbeing. Be intentional but don’t let it get into your head too much. Please.

Afterall, the Bible says; “As a man thinketh, so he is”. If you see yourself poor, If you see yourself rich, so be it.
I say to you, think well of yourself.
